Southern Utah Fuel Management Demonstration Project PDF Print E-mail

Many areas throughout the U.S. are facing the triple threat of increasing fire intensity, increasing residential growth in areas prone to wildland fire, and increasing suppression costs and losses. This project will develop fuel and vegetation data layers to model fire behavior and effects within the landscape. The developed data, models, and protocols will assist managers in making fuel treatment decisions. This project was funded by the Joint Fire Science Program and will be completed by December 2002.
