Michael (Mick) Harrington is a Research Forester with the Missoula Fire Sciences Lab, Rocky Mountain Research Station.  He received his BS degree in Forest Science and MS degree in Fire Ecology from the University of Montana. 

Mick has been involved in prescribed fire research as a scientist for 30 years, 10 years in the Southwest and 20 years in the inland Northwest. During the last decade, his studies have focused on restoration/fuel treatments in ponderosa pine and western larch forests using silviculture and prescribed fire, and fire effects in weed-infested grassland communities.
