Kurth, Laurie PDF Print E-mail


Laurie Kurth is a Fire Behavior Specialist/Plant Ecologist with the Fire Sciences Laboratories. She has a B.S. in botany from Ohio University and a M.S. in biological sciences from the University of Chicago. Laurie has been a qualified Long Term Fire Behavior Analyst since 1998 and currently serves on the faculty for Long Term Fire Behavior Assessment (S-492) and Advanced Fire Behavior (S-590).

Laurie has more than 20 years experience specializing in ecological restoration and fire ecology. Her expertise lies in long and short-term fire behavior analysis using various modeling programs and development of ecological monitoring programs. Currently she is focusing on fire behavior and fuels assessments in the northern Rockies and Georgia.
