FFI: Ecological Monitoring Utilities
PRICIPAL INVESTIGATORS Nate Benson (NPS), Duncan Lutes, Ecologist (FS), John Caratti (SEM) MaryBeth Keifer (NPS)  INTRODUCTION FFI is a new ecological monitoring tool developed to assist managers with collection, storage and analysis of ecological information. The flexibility designed into FFI means it can be used for monitoring a broad range of ecosystems. Though developed for application in the U.S., FFI can potentially be used to meet monitoring needs internationally. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES Assist managers in accomplishing monitoring activities. KEY RESULTS Six training workshops, 18 on-line training presentations, Currently used by NPS, BLM, FS and BIA. FUNDING ORGANIZATIONS FFI development was sponsored by the National Interagency Fuels Coodination Group. Additional funding provided by the National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service.
