The Remote Sensing Lab is using data collected from the MODIS instrument onboard the Terra and Aqua satellites. Data is collected up to twelve times daily as the satellites pass within our view. These satellites are in low earth orbit, approximatly 700 KM (436 miles) above the surface of the earth.
- The Radome on our roof houses a 4.2 meter receiving dish from Jackson and Tull's Smartech division
- The University of Wisconsin developed the software we use to process the data.
