The Fire Lab works with the FS International Visitor Program to host students. Recently, the lab hosted two students from Germany who are nearing the completion of their undergraduate studies in Geography. They have used their internships to develop skills in spatial analysis and visualization techniques.
The lab also works with the University of Montana's Internship Services program. The mission of Internship Services at the University of Montana is to provide undergraduate and graduate students a means to integrate academic theories and principles with practical job experience through cooperative education and internships, thereby reinforcing and expanding classroom learning while preparing them for postgraduate employment.
The Missoula Fire Sciences Laboratory features a staff with varying fire science expertise, many of whom may have opportunities to host an intern. If you are a student or have a student who is interested in volunteering or receiving university credit for working alongside one of our world-renowned researchers, please contact Colin Hardy.
