A fire synthesis summarizes and interprets a body of information, presents its meaning in an objective, unbiased way, and describes its implications for decision makers. Titled “Strengthening Syntheses on Fire: Increasing Their Usefulness for Managers,” this GTR by FFS Ecologist Jane Kapler Smith, Missoula, suggests six ways to strengthen these syntheses on fire and on other natural resource issues to communicate and deliver science to managers in the field.
